Michael H. Berkson, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon Michael H. Berkson

Dr. Michael Berkson is the founder of Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Dr. Berkson has served at Sherman Hospital as its Chief of Surgery and as President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Berkson specializes in general orthopaedics, sports medicine, fracture care, arthroscopy of the knee, ACL reconstruction, minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, and hip and knee revisions.

Scott W. Mox, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon Scott W. Mox

Dr. Scott Mox has over 20 years of surgical and orthopaedic experience. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, gaining advanced experience in total joint replacements.

Dr. Mox’s practice concentrates in the areas of total hip replacement, utilizing the newest anterior approach providing for a faster recovery, knee and shoulder replacements and shoulder rotator cuff repairs. It is important to Dr. Mox to stay abreast of the newest orthopaedic surgical advances in order to offer the best alternatives for his patients. He was the first surgeon in the Elgin area to perform the newest minimally invasive hip surgery, the anterior hip approach for total hip replacement. He also performed the areas first all arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.

Dr. Mox continues to gain knowledge and expertise in surgical techniques which offer his patients a less painful and more rapid recovery after their surgery. Most of his joint replacement patients are able to leave the hospital for the comfort of their home the following day.

Dr. Mox has been recognized in the areas of Patient Communication, Satisfaction and Physician Excellence at Advocate Sherman Hospital where he is on staff. He and his office team strongly believe in educating both the patient and their family about proper diagnosis, plan of treatment and advanced surgical options which lead to consistently superior results.

Dr. Mox’s other interests include sports injuries, fracture care and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Jeffrey A. Kazaglis, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon Jeffrey A. Kazaglis

Dr. Jeffrey Kazaglis joined Associates in Orthopaedic Surgery after completing twenty-two years of military service.

He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas and prior to joining A.O.S. he was Chief of Orthopaedics for the 1st Infantry Division for seven years. Dr. Kazaglis specializes in general orthopaedics, fracture care, hand surgery, sports medicine, joint reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow and wrist.
In addition he has earned a Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Kazaglis lectures extensively on knee and shoulder problems with a focus on sports injuries.
